I have always been interested in interior design and since my teenage years I have acted as an interior design consultant for friends and family. I've always been obsessed with it being cozy to come home, and early began experimenting with how lighting and colors could change rooms. But the interest has always been a hobby as I first studied mathematics at the university and then became a civil engineer at KTH. After 4 years in programming and software development (which is actually also quite creative), I did a complete turnaround and started product development at AFRY where I made a career and climbed the management ranks. The following years I worked as a management & strategy consultant and helped various companies to optimize.
But suddenly it wasn't fun anymore. I was working so much all the time and life was just rushing by. One morning I woke up and thought; why am i running And do I even know where I'm going?
I needed to feel that work was fun again. So quite spontaneously I resigned and in 2015/2106 I started Wolling Home. I have always been creative; sewed, carved, painted, but interior design has been my great passion. I have also built and renovated a lot myself, partly because I am interested in trying new things, but many times also because I could not afford to hire someone. I have my own carpentry shop in the basement of the villa where we live, where I always have some project underway.
I am a Civil Engineer in Construction and a certified Construction Inspector.
When I started Wolling Home, I had just "flipped" several apartments in Stockholm's inner city to finance a house purchase for me and my daughters. Some of the apartments I "just" styled and was still able to resell them two months later for +500k. It made me already know how powerful styling was in increasing the selling price. So styling became a natural place for me to start. It also made me brave when I met clients because I really knew what I was talking about and therefore it became easy for me to sell my services. Many customers said "Oh that we hadn't done this before, so we could have enjoyed it too" so we kept in touch and when more and more old customers started contacting me to style their new accommodation, I had a new concept was born; "Style for living".
Early on, I also had the opportunity to decorate a restaurant on Rörstrandsgatan that had new owners. It became the key to other commercial customers. Since then, it has only rolled on with both business and private customers. Today, there are few industries in which Wolling Home has no experience.
Since 2019, Wolling Home is also in Marbella. We had many Swedish private customers who also want help with their holiday accommodation down there. Having an apartment in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella and already spending a lot of time there made the decision easy to also offer Wolling Homes services there as well.
In both Stockholm and Marbella, we have our own teams with project managers, material consultants, decorators/stylists and carpenters. We also have collaborations with partners such as architects, designers and plumbing/electricity for projects that require it. As a customer, you can safely entrust the entire responsibility to us, from drawings and building permit documents to completion and inspection.
